….Professional Is A Verb

Defining the word “Professional” is not easy at all and becoming a professional person really takes a lot of time and effort. Many factors create “Professional” and almost all young people nowadays can’t identify what they are. Because of that reason, in this blog, I will share my point of view for you to get a clearer definition and to not be too vague about “professional” anymore. Specifically in an enterprise environment, to be a professional person we have to pay attention to these factors below:

  • Professionalism is completing your work well. Reliable and always keep the credibility.
  • Professionalism is no executing, no evading the problem, and facing and giving the solution.
  • Professionalism is always having good behavior, not letting personal emotions dominate work then affecting the results.
  • Professionalism is always maintaining the working manners even though working under the most pressure environment.
  • Professionalism is enduring, persistent, and enthusiastic about the work that you are assigned or have to do.
  • Professionalism is understanding that the human factor is the most important, not money or material things.
  • Professionalism is always ready for any circumstances, always well-prepared, and manages everything around.
  • Professionalism is having professional knowledge, clearly understanding what you are saying and doing.
  • Professionalism is having the ability to express, convey your idea to the opposites succinctly, concisely, and convincingly as well as possible. (through your presentation to the customers, being a representative to communicate with the public,…)

In short, there are many factors creating professionalism but the key factor is when you start taking action and build it, give it a plan. Always make constant efforts, keep the curiosity to learn and improve your capacity, take your chance. That is the first step on the road to being a professional person. And remember… don’t think too much about the “professional” word, don’t force yourself to be professional in a stereotyped way without showing your true qualities. It’s just a factor in many factors you have to develop and practice every day. And the fact is you are more or less professional attitude when you read up to this point, seriously think about angles I mentioned above. It starts as simple as that!

Like a always say to young people, to other partners as well as myself, I always think: “Professional is not a noun, professional is not an adjective, professional is a verb”
