People Always Call Me A “Teacher”, But I Am Not A Teacher Literally

Working more than 10 years in the Human Training and Development field for more than 40000 people, from the young who are still studying to managers and company CEOs. And after every course, I have unintentionally “attached” to a way of vocative – Teacher, even though I truly don’t want them to call me in that way. You – who is reading this blog – are not the only one questioning why, but mostly everyone is also questioning that. Because I think “teacher” has always been a very sacred term, although I am very happy because being respected and highly appreciated, but in my opinion, I think I have to go much further to be worthed to “teacher” term.

And more than a desire to be a teacher, I want to be their friend, their partner, their colleagues, and their advisor when needed. “Teacher” is sacred but it creates an invincible space at the same time, general, binding rules that we can change. So, I just want to be close to my students, want them to have an open mind with new knowledge, I want them to learn something from me and I learn something from them. Sometimes I am strict and use my professional working mindset in the boss role to create the “real” environment for “learning and practicing”.

After all, because of my variety and self-improvement that is also my goal when working in this field with a multitude of different students. It’s also a reminder to myself to try harder to be able to bring valuable information to listeners because no variety has a limit or an upgrade has a stop!
