- “One for all”
“One” means the goal for the plan, strategy during the working process. If everyone has different goals, the only goal we can get is chaos! Instead, we should have one and only goal for the whole process. The goal I said must be specific and determined based on the exact vision. Each member contributes your skill, I believe the achievement will come if you devote your best. Whenever I’m a leader of a group, I always repeat the final goal for each member in the group. Because I want myself to make sure everyone is in the right direction and no one is wrong or about to be wrong. So, “vision and goal” is the first reason I believe that you, who are the leaders have to pay attention when start working in a group.
2. “Accepting mistakes and weaknesses”
No one on this planet does not make mistakes – even me – who is writing this sentence. When you make a mistake, you have to take the consequence – That is obvious. However, when working in a group, the person has to take a consequence from you is might be not you, it might be the leader, some relevant people or everyone in the group.
BUT, you fail when you are alone and you don’t dare to try it a second time but the team spirit allows you to try “n” times until you succeed. Besides, each member in the group parallelly exists with different strengths and weaknesses. The weakness of this member may be the strength of the other. You accept your weakness and mistake is the way for the group to go forward. And of course, you have a right to give yourself and your group is “stay hungry, stay foolish”, the passion is good but don’t stay foolish for too long. We accept mistakes But don’t rely on it and let yourself or your members make the same mistake many times without any solution. Then the “accepting mistakes and weaknesses” will be really wrong.
3. “If you want to go fast, go alone – If you want to go far, go together”
This is the reason why I am interested in teamwork!
When working in a group, you are not just using your head but you can use all others’ heads in the group. Supporting each other between members can bring a very good result. Although, teamwork is not a closed process, sometimes we have impact or help from the outside such as from a professional advisor or a senior manager.
4. “Teamwork brings more than 1 value”
I desire to win and stand on the top of glory WITH my collective.
Why?
My final destination when teamwork is not only the result I want at first, but it’s also a special result for each member in the group. They explore who they are, what they can do, they can do more than they expected or simply they don’t make the same mistake as they did. Teamwork always brings more than 1 value!
