A NEW POINT OF VIEW TO EVALUATE POTENTIAL EMPLOYEE

 

In many years holding management roles in different departments included recruitment for thousands of resumes in many positions, I realized the valuable core to choose a new potential employee for a company is not about the factor “GOOD” but in an entirely new element, it’s about “ATTITUDE”. And it’s also the general opinion of many senior HR recruiters nowadays because when compared in the labor market, we are easy to find many employees who have almost the same individual capacity, however, not easy at all to find the employee who is willing wholeheartedly and responsible in work. 

Between a GOOD employee but not wholeheartedly with the job and an employee who is not good enough but always devoted, who will the employer choose? Unless employee A (who is good but not wholehearted) is an outstanding person and a determining factor in many issues of a company or is seasonality when recruiting, if not, I still priority hire employee B (who is not good enough but always devoted) because if only when you love your job, you do everything for it, desire to get the highest achievement, and about your capacity, you can improve it day-by-day. That is the reason why many young people who have potential but after a probation period, still get an answer: “ you’re not suitable for us” from recruiters. Behind many “not suitable” reasons, they realize you weren’t truly determined to work.

Back to this young generation nowadays, how to get the determination to work is a big question, the beginning is always difficult and if you are not determined and persevere enough, you will be eliminated from this game.

First, you have to identify the target before doing something, this is the angle for you when you are facing struggles or discouraged, it will help you hold on and finish your job well. The target must have a “value” big enough to compensate for the effort you put in. Help yourself not hesitate to invest more time and gray matter for your work. 

You have to prepare yourself with a ready attitude to deal with challenges, consider it as a chance to explore your capacity as well as know more about your job you are doing, this is a foundation for us to collect working experience and get better every day.

Don’t be scared of failure, don’t be discouraged when you do something wrong, the important thing is you can learn from that mistake and don’t allow yourself to make it the same. Don’t be afraid that you can’t do it and deny the chance to learn the practical and improve capacity.

You need to learn how to work effectively, seeing yourself get better day-by-day will make you more interested in your job. One of many ways you can do is learn from experience and think the same as good people think, to have the optimal solution, systematize the work and plan how to do it logically.

And finally, remember: “Try your best and wholeheartedly for what you are doing, the value will come to you one way or another.”
